Widnes Historical Society

The Widnes Historical Society meets once a month where we have a speaker informing the members of local historical events and points of interest. The committee and members are available to assist with local history queries for members, new members and visitors to the evening meetings. We promote the society with a Facebook page and receive queries from the general public, local residents and former residents who have moved out of the town regarding past historical events, particularly people who are researching into their family or local history. The members and committee are a wealth of knowledge of the local history of the local area, we collate this information in newsletters which are posted out to members and available for visitors to pick up. We have published 2 books in the past 2 years collating memories, facts, stories and industrial history and historical events of our town and the local area.
